Hours: 35 hours per week
Key Purpose
To assist in the collection of Council Tax and Community Charge. Key Performance Areas Dealing with customers on the telephone and at the public counter. Dealing with correspondence from customers.
Ensuring Council Tax Notices are correct and timeously issued under supervision of Team Leader.
Liaise with Debt Recovery Section regarding arrears cases.
Liaise with Housing Benefit Section regarding benefits cases.
Liaise with D.S.S. regarding direct payment cases.
Process transfers and refunds on overpaid accounts.
Check and process application forms for reliefs such as discounts, exemption and disabled person reduction.
Assist in the preparation of petition lists for signing by the Sheriff.
