Service Manager Roads Network (Management & Maintenance) (temp until March 2016) - 50094 Our roads network are extremely important to us as it supports the local economy, providing access for residents, businesses, services, and enable visitors to experience our beautiful coast and countryside.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a wide ranging knowledge and proven track record in the delivery of Roads Network and Maintenance Management to join our dedicated team of professionals and develop and implement our significant roads maintenance programme whilst ensuring that our standards of service are upheld to the highest level.
As well as being an experienced manager in road maintenance, construction and contracting in a competitive environment with sound knowledge of statutory obligations, you will have a proven record in leadership and management, ideally within the local government roads sector. You should be comfortable working in a political environment. Ideally you will be an Incorporated Civil Engineer or Charted Engineer, however, significant relevant experience is the most important factor and must include effective partnership working, project management, budgetary control and change management.
You must also be able to demonstrate a passion for excellent customer service and provide strong leadership for your local team, contribute to the overall management of the roads network including winter maintenance as well as being able to take responsibility for leading other roads related services, including the implementation of our flood prevention plan.
Although the post advertised is temporary until 2016 it is very likely that the right candidate will transfer to a permanent post with a wider remit.
A full UK driving licence is also essential requirement of the role.
