Senior Auditor Edinburgh   £55000.00 - £63000.00 per annum

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Auditor to join a very dynamic and forward thinking audit team operating with the commercial sector. The Company has a track record of developing staff and having them progress with in the business. The Audit team is responsible for providing independent and objective assurance and advice to the board and senior management of the business on the management of the Group's risks and the operation of internal controls. The department has a wide remit and interacts with key decision makers.

The role of Senior Finance Auditor provides an opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to play a significant part in the development of the department. The role helps provide an effective, leading edge and value-added assurance and advisory service to the Group through a combination of risk assessment, operational audit reviews, project assurance, financial regulatory compliance and other ad hoc project reviews.

Key responsibilities include: managing the planning, performance and report delivery of allocated audit assignments; basic understanding of key IT audit controls assessed under COBIT; building and maintaining a close working relationship with the senior management teams; regular reporting to senior management on key issues identified during the reviews; maintaining and developing audit programmes to adequately address existing and emerging risks, plan and monitor team's audit work;

To undertake this role you will be a Qualified Accountant with the self-confidence and ability to work effectively with, and command the respect of, senior executives; you will also have a sound understanding of controls and risks and their application to the business environment; and the ability to influence and negotiate with people at all levels. The role will also require travel throughout the UK and up to 10% overseas.
