This is a role with 5 direct reports:
4 Field based Business Development Managers and 1 Internal Account Management Team Leader. The role would be based in the office in Glasgow but we would expect between 4-6 overnight field trips per month to meet with clients under the Business Development Managers remit, both to maintain current client relationships, and to look for new clients.
The role would be a mixture of managing client relationships, as well as managing each of the direct reports both in the field and internally in the Account management team.
The role:
Head of Client Relationships has a critical role in driving a team of relationship managers to meet their targets and will be expected to deliver business growth targets through exceptional leadership and innovation.
KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITES:
Manage resources efficiently and effectively to achieve the sales and customer services objectives
Assess the training requirements of individual accounts and co-ordinate the creation and delivery of materials
To create and maintain excellent working relationships with customers
To manage team headcount requirements, recruitment and succession planning and performance management within budget
Support business development by driving customer coverage plans for sales channels
Coach, manage and influence all sales channels to ensure volume and value targets are delivered in a compliant and cost effective manner
Ensure all regulated business is completed in a compliant manner
Comply at all times with the FSA's (and any other applicable regulator), principles, commitments, and Codes of Practice.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Previous management experience in a field and office based environment.
Senior Sales experience
Good written and verbal communication
Able to communicate at all levels and to present to sales teams and our customers
Good organisational skills & ability to prioritise and delegate work
Ability to train, monitor and coach others
Ability to lead by example
Ability to translate Management Information and act upon trends
Knowledge of Microsoft office suite, internet & email
Honest, hardworking & professional
Motivated and able to motivate others
Must be approachable at all times
