Role Synopsis To operate and programme CNC lathes in accordance with manufacturers' operating instructions, and QHSE policies and procedures, ensuring that products are manufactured and delivered within the required time frame and quality standards. Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following) Set up machine in accordance with manufacturers' operating instructions in order to accomplish required job laid down in a Work Order utilising the materials which accompany the Work Order. Maintain machine tools and equipment in a safe working order and visually check cutting tools and materials prior to commencing the work, replacing the tools and reporting any defects in the materials to Chargehand and/or Machine shop Supervisor where appropriate. Operate the machine safely and competently in accordance with manufacturers' operating instructions, and ensuring that good safety & housekeeping standards are maintained as specified in QHSE policies and procedures. Report any malfunctions or unsafe conditions to production supervisor, or production staff. Carry out inspection duties using various instruments, e.g. micrometers, gauges etc, to a competent standard. Ensure safe working practice is adhered to during all operations, eye protection, footwear and other PPE is provided and must be worn at all times in the workshop area. After completing the operation, visually check the manufactured component before releasing to QC Inspector for final inspection. Qualifications Education Engineering apprenticeship and post-qualification experience, or a minimum of 10 years' industry experience. ONC/HNC in Mechanical engineering. Experience Essential Must be familiar with basic Milling and CNC Milling. Understanding of machine practices and an ability to work to engineering drawings with 0.02mm tolerances on high grade stainless steels and alloys. Preferred Multi Machine operating. Oilfield experience. Experience in Seimans programming
