Our client has an opportunity for an experienced Buyer to join their established Purchasing Team. The purchasing team are responsible for buying all the direct material to support production, cost savings and sourcing of suppliers.

Responsibilities of the role will include:-

Purchase a range of products and services to fulfil the production schedule.
Purchasing of high product mix which will include metal, machined parts, fabricated parts, fasteners etc.

Ensuring that commodities are delivered in line with the MRP schedule.

Building and maintaining relationships with Suppliers and hold regular reviews.

Supplier Management :- Scorecards, KPI's, On-Time Delivery

Sourcing of Low Cost Suppliers

Negotiation of contracts and supply

Ensure that all requisitions, contracts and PO's are processed on-time.

The ideal candidate will have:-

Buying experience within a manufacturing environment, engineering would be highly advantageous.

Strong negotiation skills.

A proven track record of delivering cost savings.
Will have built excellent Supplier Relationships.
Excellent Supplier Development techniques.
Planning and expediting experience.

Excellent communication skill and a be a team player.

Be tenacious, flexible and be prepared to go that extra mile.
