Bringing real expertise to the role, you’ll be accountable for advising management on the introduction and maintenance of sound financial controls. Managing the daily activities of the financial accounting section, you’ll ensure full compliance with all our statutory obligations.

You’ll enjoy oversight across a wide range of areas – from income, payroll and expenses, through purchase ledger, treasury/banking and taxations, to pensions and insurance. Producing regular financial information for Board meetings, as well as returns for the Scottish Executive, you’ll also be tasked with ensuring annual accounts are prepared for audit. And you’ll implement or resolve any recommendations or issues raised by auditors.

As a strategic manager, you’ll play an essential role in monitoring our financial performance. The ability to analyse and clearly communicate highly complex facts and suggestions to senior leaders, and to build strong professional relationships with diverse external bodies, will be a core element of your success.

With significant experience of managing a busy corporate financial accounting department, you have a demonstrable ability to lead, motivate and develop a skilled team. A qualified accountant, your expertise spans budget management, corporate and business planning, spending review, financial strategy, performance monitoring and reporting, and the use of financial systems.
