WFS is seeking an electronics engineer to join a talented development team at our offices in Livingston, Scotland or Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Responsibilities
• Full hardware development life cycle from requirements capture to final delivery
• Digital & analogue design including schematic capture & layout
• Hardware development of bespoke customer requirements
• Interfacing with manufacturing department and external electronic suppliers
Job Description
Hardware Development:
• Manage hardware development throughout whole life cycle
• Write requirements specifications
• Arrange and conduct internal design reviews
• Maintain version control of hardware
• Maintain hardware documentation
Testing:
• Specify and maintain test documentation
• Manage hardware upgrade procedures
Integration with Third party Equipment:
• Interface WFS equipment with other hardware, such as sensor instrumentation
Required Experience
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in hardware development
• Good problem solving skills
• Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
• Knowledge of the full hardware development life cycle
• Ability to work to tight timescales
• Fault finding and debugging (JTAG) with knowledge of hardware vs. software issues
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Degree in electronics or similar subject
Technical Competence
Essential
• Sensor Electronics and interfacing
• Microcontroller System design and interfacing
• Digital Signal Processor System Design and Interfacing
• Low Power System Design
• Component Selection and sourcing
• Schematic entry using Altium Designer
• PCB Layout using Altium Designer
Preferred
• Embedded firmware programming experience
• Experience of subsea oil & gas industry
• Switched and linear Power Amplifiers up to 2MHz
• Low noise pre-amplifiers up to 2MHz.
• Switched D.C. converters up to 200W
