Search Construction are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to work with a recognised subcontractor on a permanent basis.

Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for the commercial management of between five and six projects at the same time.

Key Duties will include:

  • Appointment of subcontractors including submission of contract
  • Main point of contact for main contractor with responsibility for ensuring that programme is confirmed prior to commencement of works on site.
  • Negotiate, process and invoice project variations. Chasing up client for approval & raising appropriate paperwork.
  • Ensure plant over hire charges are re-charged to the relevant parties i.e. client or subcontractor.
  • Monthly valuations are checked and submitted to ensure full payments are made by client.
  • Monthly cost reports are produced & reviewed with appropriate actions to initiate the recovery of over budget spends.
  • Active role in debt management, ensuring clients are making full payments to ensure positive cash flow & to highlight early any possible issues.
  • Submit & agree final accounts with client.

    • Solid contracting experience is essential with preference to candidates who have worked with specialist subcontractors & have therefore managed the relationship with subcontractors & main contractors.

    You also need to have experience in managing multiple projects, have strong commercial acumen & accurate numeracy skills.
