This is a first class role for purchasing assistant to work for this highly successful FMCG business located in the Scottish borders.
Responsibilities will cover:
Key Accountabilities
- Stock Management of all materials and all stock rooms
- Placing of Order / Call Off’s
- Checking of order Acknowledgements
- Chasing overdue orders
- Updating forecasts
- Maintaining excel spreadsheets for stocks and ordering
Communications:
- Good verbal communication skills and especially a good telephone manner required is required to deal with both internal and external people
- Attention to detail on both written and verbal communications is required to ensure accurate information is given to suppliers in the way of orders and forecasts.
Decision Making Authority:
- The Purchasing Assistant will be expected to make decisions based on order quantities and delivery dates to ensure materials are in place at the correct times
- You will hold a Good knowledge of excel spreadsheets and computer literate
- Work on their own iniative, organise time & work effectively
- Good communication skills
- Clear and good Telephone manner
- Understanding of what is used for what would be an advantage
