You will be based within a team which is recognised by HMIE and SWIA as delivering high quality services and very effective support and training. The Renfrew team operates from recently refurbished, modern offices with excellent facilities for service users. You will line manage a long term childcare team and be a member of the area management team. Main duties of the post include: providing supervision and workload management to qualified and unqualified staff; participating in the long term duty rota; chairing a range of relevant meetings; ensuring a high quality of service delivery; working in partnership with other agencies and contributing to operational planning. It is essential that you have a DipSW or equivalent, together with post qualifying experience; good communication and inter personal skills, a positive, friendly and approachable manner; sound assessment and writing skills; be computer literate with a positive attitude to the use of IT; be flexible as working outwith office hours may be required; have good leadership skills and relevant Area Team experience. You must also be registered with the SSSC or other appropriate Social Care Regulatory Body. Full training and support will be given to ensure that you are able to maintain the department’s commitment to continuous improvement. This position is covered by The Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 (“the PVG Act”) and has been designated as carrying out regulated work with a child or protected adult under the terms of the Act. Consequently individuals who are named on the Disqualified from Working with Children/Adults Lists will commit an offence if they apply for this post and may face prosecution.
