Lean Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement Manager - Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical / Medical Devices - Edinburgh - Base Salary to £50,000 + Benefits.

Based in Edinburgh, Edgar Stewart's client is a well-established bio-manufacturing organisation, with an internationally recognised product portfolio. The product range includes in vitro diagnostics for use in clinical laboratories throughout the world. The organisation also offers contract services to the bioscience industry and currently manufactures products for major global players in the Life Sciences sectors. They now need to make the key hire of a Lean Six Sigma Continuous Improvement Manager.

Reporting into the Operations Director, the Lean / Six Sigma Continuous Improvement Manager will manage a Process Excellence programme involving multi disciplinary teams within the group, and across the UK. Some other key responsibilities will include:

  • To initiate, drive and manage all business improvement projects to achieve significant financial savings.
  • Analyse and improve all business processes on a continual basis to ensure best value for money.
  • Participate in new product/process development teams to ensure lean and efficient processes.
  • Record data in relevant documentation to provide a record of all work carried out meet regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the training of staff in 5S, Lean and Six Sigma, as well as the supervision of staff during project work.
  • Participate in a programme of continuous training and assessment to maintain and develop professional skills.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all procedures are performed in compliance with SOP.
  • Conduct all duties in compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements.


    • You are a proven lean and continuous improvement manager or project manager, with relevant qualifications preferably to Black Belt in Six Sigma. This role will suit any lean or CI leaders with a background in life sciences, medical devices, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and those candidates used to working to GMP or GLP standards.
