VAT Specialist (Part-Time) Dunfermline   £38000 - £41000 per annum + pro rata

Part-Time VAT Specialist required for the Dunfermline office of this highly reputable firm of chartered accountants.

In this role you will manage a varied interesting portfolio of indirect tax clients where you will assist Partners and colleagues in providing VAT advisory solutions to clients. You will also be involved in VAT training across the firm as well as business development activities.

You will require a level of knowledge on the following issues, at which you can discuss and explain to clients and colleagues with accuracy and confidence:

.VAT registrations and deregistrations
.Liability of income
.Recovery of VAT on expenditure
.Partial exemptions
.Capital Goods Scheme
.Land and property issues
.EU acquisitions and despatches
.Imports and exports
.Place of supply rules for services
.Anti-avoidance rules
.Assisting with business development initiatives on target accounts, contributing to winning new work
.Developing less experienced members of staff
.Assisting on existing client engagements, reporting direct to Partner

With prior VAT experienced gained within a professional services firm or HMRC, you will be ATT, CTA or equivalent qualified. You will possess excellent client facing, relationship building and business development skills, coupled with commercial awareness. You must also have the ability to be proactive, identify opportunity and take early responsibility.
