You will be part of an innovative, dynamic Sports Development Section that aims to ensure opportunities exist for regular lifelong participation in physical activity and sport and for every individual to enter sport and physical activity and reach their highest potential limited only by their ability, drive and ambition. Working 18 hours per week, as a Dance Co-ordinator you will lead/assist in the teaching/coaching of a variety of client groups of varying ability in early years, primary and secondary Dance. You will be involved in the planning, promotion and delivery of progressive and developmental dance programmes, as well as maintaining and updating participant records, checking all teaching equipment and ensuring that a safe and comfortable environment is provided at all times. You will have an HNC in a Dance/Sport or physical activity related field and/or work related experience and have experience of coaching dance, assisting/organising and operating a dance programme and organising dance festivals and events. You must be able to work effectively with a variety of professional partners, parents and children and possess excellent communication skills, as well as excellent presentation skills. The ability to use software packages such as Microsoft Word, and have good organisational skills is also a requirement. You must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends when required. This is a temporary post for a period of 8 months.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Leisure & Culture Dundee.
