An exciting new opportunity has arisen on a permanent basis for a senior HR officer within a fast paced marine environment.

The successful candidate should come from a generalist HR background and should have experience in training, recruitment, as well as personnel logisitcs.

The SHRO on a day to day basis will provide support in areas such as training, recruitment, personnel logisitcs, absence management as well as discipline and grievance as necessary in order to maintain a diverse fleet of vessels, and assist in ensuring that all operational requirements and deadlines are met.

After a period of time within the company and initail training within the support vessel industry, the successful candidate will assist in business and strategy development where applicable. In addition to building and maintaining relationships with two direct reports, there will also be requirements in supervising, guiding and developing other members of the team.

The day to day SHRO is but not limited:

1. Responsible for providing a complete, efficient human resource and recruitment service for the company's staff and management.
2. The management of immediate short term and long term resourcing requirements and logistical problems complying with company budgets,expansion plans and statutory requirements.
3.Supervision and co-ordination of the activities of the HR officers as appropriate. Ensuring the vessels remain properly crewed at all times.
4. Ensure that employee turnover and absence statics are recorded and that these statics are analysed and any problem areas are identified.
5.Conduct employment interviews for onshore and offshore personnel.
6.Deal with and advise on discliplianry,grivences and performance matters.
7.Deputise for the HR manager as required
8.Make vessel visits proactively and as required in support of the departments KPI objectives
9.Participate in HRD on call rota as required by the company.
Parcipiate in the HRD emergency response team as required by the company.

The successful candidate should be CIPD qualified or willing to work towards this qualification. Alternatively the candidate should have experience working in an HR environment for a minimum of 5 years, knowledge of current employment law issues would be beneficial.

*Experience within the offshore marine industry would be highly desirable. Alternatively, sound logisitcs skills and knowledge would be acceptable*
