Department Manager- Elgin , salary up to £18,000 PA plus bonus

Most known for the specialist team of staff who are experts in their given area, they have been known as the 'go to' store with the right standard of customer care and range of products to suit a versatile consumer need in a highly competitive market.

The role

Assisting the General Manager in the daily running of a store of up to £10,000 sq ft, with at least 5 departments and individual department managers, your ultimate aim is marry excellent customer service with sales in order to maximise store profitability. Staff training is key, and you will manage up to 20 staff, their individual KPIs, and their development from the moment of recruitment. Staff efficiency has been a core focus for the company in recent months, so you will motivate your team to be be productive and sales focused with every customer of the branch. A sales focus is of course paramount in these challenging retail times, and as store manager you will liaise closely with the regional manager to ensure that service and sales go hand in hand.


Responsibilities:



leading, managing and motivating a 20 member team of staff
leading by example in a hands-on role
Recruitment, training and development
Working with high volumes of products
Developing a sound working knowledge of the products sold
Stock management to include shrinkage targets
Profit and loss accountability

Your fit

The successful applicant will come from a strong background in retail store management, managing high volume products and large teams of at least 15 members. You will be comfortable working with large flor spaces, and will have managed profit and losses in a similar environment. The ideal candidate will come from a technical, or sports background and be flexible to work between various locations as the need arises.
