Our Media and Telecoms Industry Client is looking for an experienced System Designer to join their team to lead a technical team focused on delivering a System Design which is fit-for-purpose and of sufficient detail to serve as an input to the build phase of the Software Lifecycle.
The role will involve -
To work with the Technical Analysts, assisting in the formation of requirements and analysis artefacts. To identify enhancements to existing development services and processes on an ongoing basis in order to continually improve service levels. To ensure that design standards, methods and tools are adhered to and are used appropriately. To work to quality methods within the overall strategy and standards framework To identify and recommend actions to improve process to maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
Candidates are required to have the following skills and experience -
Ability to influence technical decisions across multiple stakeholders Experience of designing, implementing and integrating substantial package and bespoke system solutions IT experience in an enterprise scale environment Knowledge of multiple technologies - databases, middleware, COTS packages and Java Strong knowledge and experience of software development lifecycles and design patterns Very strong communication skills, including presentation and influencing skills
Desired skills for the role include -
Strong experience of design tools (e.g. Rational Software Architect, Rational Application Developer, Enterprise Architecht), UML and model driven development Experience of working with the Agile Methodology A strong knowledge of the major integration product sets and understand the benefits of using them and be able to explain the benefits in business terms. Strong knowledge of an SOA service framework which should include target domain level services, composite (multi domain) services, target orchestrations / business processes and interaction services A strong knowledge of delivery of best practice in SOA in implementing SOA, including the setup of an SOA/Integration Competency Centre / delivery unit Exposure to the Chordiant CRM solution or Genesys Interaction Management would be very useful though not essential A background knowledge of Portal or portal implementations particularly over a SOA Experience of design using a BPM tool such as Lombardi/IBM BPM7.5/Pega Systems. Experience should be gained in a media/telco/supply chain environment
