•Take full ownership of sales target for UK and Ireland.
•Each year develop and implement a plan to exceed the annual sales target
•Conduct sales review meetings, covering quotation reviews, Account Development and New Accounts.
•Communicate key business messages and new initiatives effectively to the team and surrounding team players
•Actively manage the sales process: prospect identification; needs analysis; presentation; define solution; proposal; negotiation; close; follow up & obtain referrals
•Manage and maintain a funnel of new business opportunities with the CRM system
•Work closely with the Lab General Managers, Senior Sales Executives, Sales Director and Marketing Teams on all aspects of selling as required.
•Ensure careers of all Sales Executives in the team are being actively and professionally managed whether the Sales Executives have a direct or dotted line of report.
•Ensuring annual Sales targets are set appropriately and in a timely fashion.
•Ensure all aspects of individuals careers are being catered for in line with company policy – e.g setting of non sales related objectives, career planning, training and mentoring
•Identify need for and activate Performance Improvement Plans if necessary for individuals.
•Conduct weekly Quotation reviews with all Sales Executives.
•Conduct monthly Account reviews with all Sales Executives.
•Working alongside GM in consultancy based businesses in target setting; new and existing account development, tendering and in generally assisting sales effort
•Work alongside peers in other sectors and territories to develop and nurture a “Group Approach” to selling all Services
PERSON SPEC - higher weighting more important:-
•10 - Track record of sales success at a Senior level and demonstrable knowledge of the sales process
•10 – Experience of managing Sales teams
•10 – Commercially astute, numerically competent, experienced in CRM use and management
•10 – Capable of conducting Sales review meetings, covering quotation reviews, Account Development and New Accounts.
•10 - Strong communicator in all forms and at all levels
•9 - Experience of securing contracts in the range of £10k to £1M
•9 - Experience of selling food and consumer products would be an advantage
•9 - Clear understanding of the difference between features and benefits
•9 – Experience of training, mentoring and career planning
•9 – University level education would be an advantage
•8 - Full UK driving license required
