Safety Health and Environment Manager Glasgow

SSE Renewables is responsible for the development and construction of the SSE portfolio of renewable energy projects, including onshore and offshore wind, hydro, marine, biomass, and solar. SSE is the leading generator of renewable energy in the UK and Ireland, with 3,750MW of renewable energy capacity (onshore wind, offshore wind, hydro and dedicated biomass) in operation, under construction or with consent in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

We are currently recruiting an experienced Project Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Manager.  The Project SHE Manager is a member of the project management team responsible for delivery of an offshore wind farm project. You will be responsible for providing support, advice and guidance on all aspects of SHE management to the generation business unit and offshore projects.

You will coach the project management teams to facilitate improvements in SHE performance and work to develop our project teams to ensure that the have the skills, knowledge and awareness necessary to proactively support SHE management activities during project delivery. Providing SHE support, advice and guidance to the project will be an important part of your role.

You'll have a postgraduate qualification in Health & Safety Management and significant experience in the management of SHE in an offshore / onshore environment either in the execution of major projects or in the operation of major hazard facilities.  Ideally, you'll be a Qualified Management System Auditor â€" 18001 / 14001 and have experience in the use of TapRooT or TOPSET root cause analysis techniques during incident investigation.
