Contract: Fixed-term Maternity Cover until 18 August 2013

We believe in children – and Barnardo's Scotland East Region Disability Services is a key provider of residential short-break services for children with disabilities. We offer the chance for children and young people to have a fun, meaningful experience away from home, as well as providing regular breaks for families. We're based in the centre of Bathgate, a purpose-built residential centre in Gogarbank, Edinburgh - which is unfortunately not accessible by public transport - and a recently refurbished residential bungalow in Broxburn. 

We seek an experienced and motivated team leader to lead our community disability services.

As part of our management team, you will have a shared ownership of all our service provision, with a lead role and responsibility for our community short breaks provision; sitting services, activity breaks/outreach, group work provision and occasional special programmes. 

You will have direct supervisory responsibility for Project Workers 2, Project Workers 1 and sessional staff, and provide an important link to our Volunteer Co-ordinator. 

Applicants for this post should be experienced in working with children with disabilities, preferably in a residential setting and possess the skills to make positive relationships with young people. Previously proven skills and ability to lead and manage a team are essential.
