My Client who are a Global Organisation requires a time-served Engineer to join their growing team on initially a temporary contract with the view to going permanent.
Main Purpose of the Position
To collect and analyse data that reinforces the culture of Continuous Improvement in all areas of the Plant and Warehouse.
To ensure consistent work study measurement with concise separation of process improvement versus waste time analysis, the engineer will coordinate consistency across all operational areas.
Provides data for strategic planning purposes and the impact of model mix and volume changes against required manpower resources
Engages Kaizen support into industrial engineering analysis and ensures key plant A.O.P. initiatives received required industrial engineering support.
Ensures accurate data is supplied to Finance for labour and RFA costings.
Responsible for conversion costing inputs into financial databases. Coordinates management reports to quantify improvement opportunities, accurate process times and operational cost. Publishes charts showing production output / manning / efficiency for designated areas of the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out Industrial Engineering Time, Method and Activity Sampling studies Ensures commonality of standards, the Industrial Engineer will clearly present data highlighting improvement opportunities. Take the lead in Plant capacity expansion projects, supplying all necessary data for short/long term future planning Data will be presented in the same way across all operational areas. (Blockline , Assembly & Test) Determines optimum capacity of machining workstations, Assembly stages, Test and Trim Cells, Warehouse. Prepares meaningful targets for Shop Operations to use, leading to monitoring of Cell performance.
Maintains credible relationships between manufacturing and operational groups by clearly providing data to separate method improvements from waste time contributors. Capability to perform assessments of manufacturing methods for optimum cost, layout, labour and equipment utilisation. Thorough knowledge of problem solving techniques, ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels within the Company. Maintain Industrial Engineering standards database. Maintain and update Computer Simulation packages for capacity planning scenarios.
Experience Required:
Sound Engineering experience preferably in a complex Manufacturing/Assembly/Warehouse environment ·
Industrial engineering practises and techniques.
C Skills including Excel, Word and Power point
Data Gathering & Analysis
Interpersonal Skills & Good Communication essential.
Education/qualifications required (classify as essential and optional):
Four year technical based engineering apprenticeship Minimum HNC in manufacturing Engineering. Qualified industrial engineer
