86402 - Asbestos Projects Coordinator

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Asbestos Projects Coordinator, based in Rosyth.

Job Description

  • Reports to Senior Chemist/Asbestos Technical Manager, and is responsible for organising the provision of asbestos services to internal and external clients.
  • Liaising with customers and managing their delivery expectations
  • The creation of survey work packs.
  • Asbestos survey report production, electronic & paper, including asbestos data management and the uploading and down loading of hand held PDA's.
  • Updating the Babcock site asbestos database.
  • Document control for the asbestos supervisory license.
  • Selection of monthly quality control slides and bulks. In the absence of QA admin updating the quality control programme.
  • Pricing of work orders and changing status ready for invoicing.
  • At peak times, assist the asbestos surveyors by provide asbestos analysis in accordance with HSG248 and HSG264 for surveying, bulk samples and air testing working within a UKAS accredited quality system.
  • Maintain a safe & healthy working environment.
  • Perform all required internal (calibration, quality control & trace ability) & external quality assurance checks (RICE & AIMS) to meet UKAS requirements.
  • Support the business in providing a flexible service to meet internal and external customers requirements on site or off site.
  • Any other support duties as deemed necessary by the Senior Chemist/Asbestos Technical Manager or Manager Scientific Services.

  • Skills & Experience

  • Have a knowledge of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 preferably with a P401 plus one or more of the following qualifications - a P402 or S301.
  • Have proficient computer skills in the Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook etc…) and have experience with access databases.
  • Understand the requirements of a UKAS quality system.
  • Driving Licence.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety.

  • This is a permanent position.

    The salary for this position is negotiable.
