Glasgow Caledonian University is looking to appoint to the position of Assistant Head of Administration (Registry) within the School of Health and Life Sciences.

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for registry activities across the School in liaison with the Executive Dean and Head of Administration. 

The role holder will lead a team of professional administrators and will contribute to and advise on the development of policies and strategies for the provision of Programme Administration functions. 

You will take the lead in ensuring the administrative compliance of the School’s programmes with the University’s policies and procedures. You will be responsible for developing mechanisms and attitudes to maintain excellence in the quality of our student experience and other activities which will enable the School to meet its strategic objectives.

You will liaise with and maintain excellent working relationships with School staff, support departments and all major stakeholders such as external agencies/professional bodies, students and their representative bodies and societies.

You will have a first degree (or equivalent), strong line management skills and significant experience of managing a large team.  You will have a working knowledge of University administration, in particular, the administration of academic programmes and an understanding of the wider higher education agenda in Scotland.  You will have the ability to make independent decisions, be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communications skills and exceptional organisational and management skills (preferably gained in an educational environment).
