Hours: 35 hours per week
Location: Irvine
What is the Role?
To lead and manage the following Services of the Council, to be responsible to the Corporate Director for such and to be accountable to the Council:
  • Roads
  • Tranporatation, Lighting Maintenance and Design
  • Planning
  • Environmental Health amd Trading Standards
  • Building Standards
  • Economic Development


What will you do?

As a key member of the Council's Corporate Management Team, the successful candidate will play a strategic leadership role in facilitating our transformational change programme while focussing on the continuous improvement and effectiveness of service delivery in a challenging financial climate. You will demonstrate extensive experience at a senior management level of formulating policy on complex issues and the ability to create new and innovative solutions. The posts have a broad and exciting remit-including responsibility for leading the Council's Workforce Change Programme -and will offer you the opportunity to have a direct impact on shaping the delivery of services to our local communities.

What do you need to bring to the Role?

You will be a strategic thinker and inspirational leader who will deliver a clear sense of purpose and direction and will easily gain the confidence of Councillors, employees, trade unions, local communities and partner organisations. While change management will be of paramount importance, you will also have excellent people management skills, combined with integrity and sound ethical judgement.
