Are you a qualified accountant with insurance industry experience with a proven track record of examining and reporting on the effectiveness of risk management and the design and operation of the systems of internal control? If you are, and are a natural relationship builder, PRG would like to talk to you about a key role in one of our client companies.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Develop, maintain and deliver the Sox programme, ensuring that this meets regulatory requirements, group methodology requirements and forms key and integral part of the overall Risk Framework.

Activities include:

  • Lead the annual Internal Financial control Sox scoping exercise
  • Lead the annual Internal Control Process Risk Assessment
  • Support the development of the Sox and Internal Control framework methodology
  • Co-ordinate and perform process walkthroughs, process and control design workshops

  • 2. Deliver the Sox testing programme to provide assurance of compliance:

  • Develop the testing plan and resource schedule.
  • Co-ordinate testing activities and monitor progress.
  • Develop test plans, including sampling strategies and techniques.
  • Ensure testing programme is completed and documented to agreed standards.

  • 3. Manage the agreement and monitoring of Sox remediation actions to address weaknesses and deficiencies:

  • Liaise with process and control owners and others to discuss Sox testing findings, evaluate and agree deficiencies.
  • Provide support and challenge to control owners to define remediation actions to enhance the control environment.
  • Consolidate local findings and prepare related reports for the ORRC and other governance groups.
  • Develop and implement a framework for ongoing monitoring and reporting of remediation progress, including escalation where there is a risk that actions may not be delivered within agreed timescales.
  • Act as a key contact with external audit for Sox programme activities related to deficiencies - evaluation, agreement of remediation actions and monitoring of progress

  • 4. Lead, develop and motivate direct reports and indirect reports to deliver high standards of performance through effective communication, performance management, coaching and direction.

    5. Provide training and guidance to support process owners and others in developing understanding of risks and controls and assurance methodology requirements including Sox.
