A part-time vacancy has arisen within the Intergrated Team of Adults with Learning Disabilities in the Bute and Cowal area. This is a post for a qualified Social Worker registered with the SSSC or a relevant health professional registered with the NMC or HPC. The team is located within Dolphin Hall Annexe, where Clinical Nurse Specialist and Social Worker/Care Managers work together to provide a joined up service to adults with a range of disabilities. The main function of the post is to carry out Assessment and Care Management functions for adults with learning disabilities and young people coming into adult services as Transitions from school. The post-holder is responsible to the Area Manager for Learning Disability and will also work with the wider Community Care Team and contribute to the duty system and maintenance of the CareFirst records. Working in a person-centred way with values of Inclusion and mainstreaming is essential. Applicants should note that:
  • This job is not suitable for Job Share.
  • The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2003 apples to this post.
  • This post requires registration with Scottish Social Services Council.

Applicants should also note that this position falls within the scope of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme which came into force on Monday 28th February 2011; the scheme replaces enhanced disclosure checking arrangements for “regulated” positions.

Should you be the preferred candidate after interview, you will be required to gain membership of the PVG scheme in relation to working with protected adults, prior to any unconditional offer of appointment.
