The Education Department within the Good Shepherd Secure / Close Support Unit is a co-educational establishment which caters for 27 young people.  We respond to the immediate challenge of re-engaging young people in the learning process.

We are committed to ensuring all our young people receive their full curriculum entitlements. We have a focus on Literacy, Numeracy, Health & Wellbeing and Skills for Learning, Life & Work. We endeavour to ensure our curriculum offers scope for our young people to extend their learning beyond subject areas through vocational and interdisciplinary work and learning across a broad range of contexts.

An opportunity now exists for a committed, motivated, professional and competent classroom assistant to join our Education team.

You must be interested in learning and demonstrate a willingness to be flexible and creative. You must have the necessary inter-personal skills necessary for developing and maintaining positive relationships in a challenging environment.

It would be desirable for candidates to possess a Classroom Assistant qualification. Experience of working with young people is essential.
