Key accountabilities:
Responsibility for the preparation of monthly management accounts and submission of accounts and commentary within business deadlines; Liase with business stream directors, general managers and other senior management during forecast and budget process; Prepare reliable and timely financial forecast and budget information; Contribute to and review financial elements of bids, including customer review, cashflow, payment plan and review of rates and margins used; Carry out credit checks on new customers and regular checks on existing customers. Manage applications to credit insurers and feedback to business development/ operations team; Ensure business does not undertake work without relevant contract cover; Proactively manage working capital requirements to achieve targets; Support project managers in preparation of project reports; Involvement in project reviews; Participation in operational/ project meetings; Attend and contribute to monthly operational management meeting; Prepare and deliver signed statutory accounts to Director of Legal Affairs; Ensure appropriate financial controls in place across the business and compliance with financial reporting standards; Responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations; Encourage and drive co-operation between business services and finance; Assist in development of business processes; Encourage and drive finance team development on a technical and personal basis. Education/ Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified accountant with at least 2 years experience in industry; Has practical experience of long term contract accounting; Ability to communicate with senior team and non financial management; Well organised and able to work to business deadlines; Experience of managing staff preferable; Willing to undertake occasional travel between sites.
