Salary:£16,342.78 - £17,338.37 pro rata
Part Time 12.50 hours per week

Sessional 39 weeks

Based in Lasswade Primary School, 7A Pendreich Drive, Bonnyrigg, you will assist in supporting young people with additional support needs and will undertake a range of support tasks including the preparation of teaching materials and the teaching environment. Your duties will vary according to the needs of the school and will be directed and supervised by appropriate teaching staff.

You must provide evidence of basic literacy and numeracy at Standard Grade General level or SVQ2 in Early Years Care and Education, or National Certificate unit in Childcare & Education, or equivalent competency, to enable the jobholder to communicate effectively with staff and pupils, and provide sensitive support.

Experience of working with young people and of using Signalong is preferred and you must be familiar with child development and be able to respond sensitively to the needs of individual pupils.

To be fully competent in the role, the successful candidate will be required to undertake addition training courses, e.g. first aid, calm techniques, etc.
