The Company:

Our client is an innovative engineering company providing cutting edge access systems allowing construction and engineering personnel to carry out complex tasks for the offshore, marine and civil industries.

Their patented, cutting edge technologies are engineered to the highest standards and provide customers with safe solutions to working alongside and beneath bridges, platforms and oil rigs.

Their facility is based in Fife and is easily commutable from Fife, West Lothian, Edinburgh, Perthshire and the Central Belt.

The company has experienced great success and demand for their products continues to grow. To support this growth, an opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and qualified Structural Engineer to join their team as Project Engineer.

The Role:

You will be responsible for delivering the technical, engineering projects and contracts:

Day-today duties may include:

  • Review of customer specifications, drawings and bid documents. Often there is a requirement to define the specification from concept alongside the client
  • Site surveys
  • Client liaison (review meetings, updates, etc)
  • Design Engineering;
  • Calculations
  • CAD Design
  • Use of S-Frames software
  • R&D Design, seeking to improve core products on offer

  • Generate production documents and procurement specifications
  • Managing possible variation requests

  • The Candidate

    Degree qualified in Structural Engineering or a similar engineering discipline, you will have experience of designing steel structures and carrying out required analysis using S-Frames or similar software. CAD Design experience is also required.

    Additionally, you will have been involved in the entire project life cycle including; developing client specifications, client meetings, site surveys/visits and tracking the progress of projects against schedule.

    The successful candidate will be an adventurous engineer with the ability to "think outside of the box". Our clients require solutions to engineering challenges you probably won't have faced before so problem solving will be required!
