Our client is looking to appoint a Buyer for a 6 month contract.

Responsibilities of the role will include:-

  • Raise and manage Purchase orders
  • Prepare and issue RFQs and Adhoc requests as required
  • Manage supplier pricing schedules
  • Support supplier audits
  • Monitor the performance of suppliers relevant to their transactional activity
  • Understand and implement contract requirements and any special contractual conditions
  • Negotiate keen competitive prices often against a background of demanding target savings and sole source suppliers
  • To interface with all levels of management within the business unit and all other interested parties in relation to his/her role

  • Experience required for the role will be:-

  • Previous experience of working in a similar Buying role
  • Demonstrate negotiation/commercial skills
  • Have the ability to effectively communicate at all levels ensuring contracts are produced to a high level of quality, and in a timely manner
  • Must be capable of prioritising and multi tasking, and working to an agreed schedule
  • Must be self motivated and be able to work both individually or as part of a team
  • Must have a flexible approach to workload
  • Appropriate knowledge in supply chain and procurement of goods and services
  • Basic working knowledge in contract law.
