Our client is looking to appoint a Buyer for a 6 month contract.
Responsibilities of the role will include:- Raise and manage Purchase orders Prepare and issue RFQs and Adhoc requests as required Manage supplier pricing schedules Support supplier audits Monitor the performance of suppliers relevant to their transactional activity Understand and implement contract requirements and any special contractual conditions Negotiate keen competitive prices often against a background of demanding target savings and sole source suppliers To interface with all levels of management within the business unit and all other interested parties in relation to his/her role
Experience required for the role will be:- Previous experience of working in a similar Buying role Demonstrate negotiation/commercial skills Have the ability to effectively communicate at all levels ensuring contracts are produced to a high level of quality, and in a timely manner Must be capable of prioritising and multi tasking, and working to an agreed schedule Must be self motivated and be able to work both individually or as part of a team Must have a flexible approach to workload Appropriate knowledge in supply chain and procurement of goods and services Basic working knowledge in contract law.
