Search's Client require an experienced CAD Technician for there client based in Ellon

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

This role, reporting directly to the Technical Director, involves working within a small team of CAD and Design personnel within the Engineering Department/Drawing office. The holder will be responsible for providing full technical assistance in the processing of sales orders and new product design.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to;

  • 1. The Job Holder will prepare accurate and timely detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of components for purchase or manufacture as instructed by his/her Supervisor or as requested by any member of the Sales Team in response to a Sales order/enquiry/technical query.
  • The Job Holder will prepare accurate and timely layout drawings of new product designs for manufacture as instructed by his/her Supervisor.
  • The Job Holder will prepare and maintain accurate and timely Bills of Materials.
  • The Job Holder will carry out all work instructions accurately and effectively meeting tight deadlines.
  • The Job Holder will be conversant with current good engineering practice for component manufacture and be able to accurately and effectively incorporate these into all day to day tasks.
  • The Job Holder will quickly and effectively assist other departments within the company by providing technical information and / or assistance as and when required.
  • The Job Holder will assist in the maintenance of accurate, effective and up to date Drawing Office procedures.
  • The Job Holder will assist in the preparation of accurate, effective and up to date Operation and Maintenance Manuals.
  • The job holder will be flexible and work as part of a small specialised team adhering to tight deadlines.

  • Key Knowledge, Skill and Experience Requirements

    Skills:
    Academic qualifications - HNC / HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar as a minimum

    Experience:
    Candidates should have gained experience in the use of SolidWorks 3D CAD within a mechanical design environment; A working knowledge of AutoCad and MathCad software packages would be an advantage. Some knowledge of Jacking systems and Power Transmission components would also be an advantage, but training would be given.
