Volunteer - various opportunities Ayrshire North   Voluntary

Would you like to give up a small amount of your time on a regular or even one-off basis to make a huge difference in someone’s life?  We have a wide range of volunteering opportunities available in North Ayrshire  including befriending, activity enabling, events assistance and corporate volunteering.

Cornerstone is a charity which was founded in 1980 by Nick Baxter with the aim of improving the lives and care of adults with learning disabilities.  Volunteers are a valued part of our services and the work that our volunteers do is highly appreciated. 

Some of the opportunities that we have on offer in North Ayrshire include:

Volunteer Befrienders – this type of volunteer enhances the lives of people we support by extending their social circle and broadening the opportunities available, allowing them to enjoy life and feel part of their wider community. Befrienders are matched with people we support on a one-to-one basis with the aim of sharing common interests and activities. 

Activity Enablers – as an Activity Enabler you will be supporting groups of people to take part in activities.  This could be an arts and crafts group, music, drama or even an exercise class.  If you have particular talents or hobbies that you would like to share with the people we support then please get in touch as you could be the perfect activity enabler!

Events assistant – Cornerstone takes part in and runs a variety of events throughout the year in order to increase awareness of what we do as a charity.  If you think you could give up some time to support us in the running of these events or would like more information then let us know.
