The unique role of Volunteer Befriender adds an important extra dimension to the lives of the people we support by extending and enhancing their individual circle of support and broadening the opportunities and experiences available to them.

 

Cornerstone support a lady who lives in Lennoxtown and would like the company of a mature female befriender on a monthly basis to attend a number of social activities including beauty appointments, theatre, bowling and walks in the local area.

The right person will be socialable, enjoy meeting people and going to new places and idealy around 50 years of age. You should be someone who is patient and understanding and  willing to take time to get to know this person with the confidence to support an individual who is registered bllind.

 

We will provide relevant training, a named contact person and regular support sessions to all volunteers.

 

We rquire 2 -4 hours a month with commitment for a minimum of 12 months

 

Travel expenses and reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
