JOB
This role will give you the opportunity to be involved in the following areas:
Participating in the delivery of the Bank's statutory financial reporting including external year end, half year and quarterly reports and any associated press releases
Liaising with external auditors across selected statutory financial reporting matters
Managing the smooth operation of the financial consolidation model demonstrating a controlled position at each quarter end including;
o Preparing data for detailed statutory disclosures and internal insight and analysis
o Performing reconciliations with management accounting reports
Updating and issuing quarterly statutory reporting packs and instructions ensuring cross Company completion and compliance
Managing of the statutory consolidation system and related EUC's ensuring delivers required results
Assisting in the deliver an ongoing programme of communication and training across the Finance Community keeping abreast of industry developments
Using knowledge and experience promptly identify potential problems within statutory reporting process and ensure escalation where appropriate
Leading change arising from changes in accounting standards and policy managing delivery across the Bank
* Delivering agreed operational plans within established budget aligned to the strategic direction of the business
* Acting as a member of the senior financial management team and contributing to the development of Finance policy
* Guiding, supporting and delivering to commercial areas of business where required, supporting and influencing decision making
* Continually improving the statutory reporting process, increasing awareness and understanding
* Developing a network of external advisers/practitioners to support Company understanding of implications of technical developments and application of best practice within statutory reporting
YOU
You will be skilled and/or qualified in the following areas:
* Finance professional preferably with experience within the banking industry
* Understanding of finance systems architecture and processes
* Confident, pro-active and enthusiastic with the ability to influence colleagues
* Good communication skills, confident in dealing with colleagues at all levels across the Company
* Organised and able to prioritise a varied workload
* Qualified accountant with some post qualification experience or equivalent relevant practical experience
* Some experience and understanding of the theory and practicalities of financial consolidations
* A knowledge of IFRS, including financial instruments
