Mann Finance is working in partnership with a leading Leisure client based in the heart of Glasgow City Centre. They have an impressive portfolio of retail outlets, hotels and properties around Scotland and further growth is a key focus for the business. Due to a recent restructure within the finance department they are now looking to recruit a Financial Controller which will be an integral role within the busy team.
Key Responsibilities:
This position will report directly into the Group Finance Director and will have complete control of the Financial Reporting and Financial Management teams within the business. A key focus of this role will be to implement change within the current teams. Assessing current processes and procedures will be crucial in order to look at new ways of efficiency. Working closely with the Operations team to look at individual performances across the portfolio and assess where changes need to be implemented. This role will also be responsible for all reporting to the Stakeholders on a monthly basis. Responsible for a team of 20+ and providing guidance and support to 2 Finance Managers within the team. Oversee system changes across the business and working closely with Operations to identify the needs of the business. This role requires someone to carry the vision of the business forward and to make sure that it is fully integrated in the day to day operation of the team.
Key Criteria:
It is essential that you are a fully qualified accountant with either a CA or ACCA qualification. Although there is no preference of industry sector, it is essential that you can demonstrate the understanding of working for a financially complex business and have implemented change in a finance division. Evidence of strong supervisory skills and mentoring of individuals is a key factor in this position. This role will require constant contact with non-finance teams across the business and it is essential that you can demonstrate relationship building with not only Stakeholders but also Operations/Sales teams. Someone with a professional and corporate attitude will work well within the company, but it is also essential to influence others within the team.
