PLANT ENGINEER -

The Role:

Due to the ongoing success of this company, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Plant Engineer (Mechanical) to join the company.

The overall purpose of this role is to ensure the operational availability, serviceablity and optimal performance of mechanical assets within the Plant Engineer's assigned area.

  • Planning maintenance tasks and overseeing activities undertaken with due consideration to safety.
  • Directing a team of skilled mechanical craftpersons in perfomring complex maintenance tasks.
  • Oversee test of equipment to ensure its performance has returned to maximum efficiency.
  • Documenting all repairs for machine history records and maintaining asset registers.
  • Implementing changes to improve plant performance and reliability.
  • To ensure that maximum uptime is achieved using exacting engineering standards in the most efficient method possible.

  • The Candidate:

  • HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering coupled with ability and willingness to learn and progress career.
  • Significant experience of DEVELOPING MAINTENANCE STRATEGIES (not simply effecting repair) within manufacturing (preferably a process industry or heavy manufacturing/engineering, e.g. chemical, steel, plastics, oil/gas, etc).
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve engineering problems.
  • Knowledgeable in relation to Health & Safety
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan work to achieve key objectives.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
