Our Telemetry team based at our Grangemouth regional office was set up three years ago and is expanding due to the increase in demand for their professional services offered to our clients sites across Scotland, Boulting Group is seeking to recruit an experienced Telemetry Engineer.

About the role

Throughout the role of Telemetry Engineer you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of telemetry systems.

By developing and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers, clients and users you will ensure that you understand the scope of work packages and implement solutions to the highest standards of both quality and safety.

You will be responsible for completing comprehensive site specific Telemetry signal workbooks from outline requirements and preparing Telemetry design packages that adhere to our clients systems of work.

You must be able to demonstrate previous experience of carrying out the following:

  • Installation of Telemetry systems and associated equipment
  • Configuration of Telemetry outstations to clients exacting requirements including RTU code, Modbus implementation and radio communication links
  • Compilation of mimics and signal configuration listings for import to client’s Top End systems
  • Managing the client approvals process for Telemetry mimics and signal configuration listings
  • RTU commissioning and signal end to end testing
  • Preparation of test records and RTU O&M documentation.

 

Skills and experience

You should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with both internal and external clients, an ability to understand and solve problems and excellent influencing and negotiating skills.

You should be able to demonstrate a proven track record of managing Telemetry projects.

Qualifications

You should possess one of the following; Degree/HNC/HND/ONC in Electrical, Electronic, Controls Engineering or a relevant technical engineering qualification such as SCOTVEC or City & Guilds.

The successful candidate must hold a full UK driving licence as the position involves travel throughout Scotland.
