* To advise managers on general working practices such as: absence management, performance management, discipline, grievances and the full range of employment and employee relations matters to ensure legislation, company policy and best practice are followed
* Support managers and HR colleagues in recruitment and develop a recruitment plan
* To create, implement and take ownership of an effective Recruitment & Retention strategy
* Keep up-to-date with legislation and best practice HR to ensure that advice is appropriate and compliant
* Ensure documentation is issued and keep manual and computerised records up-to-date
* Support the business through change by overseeing the Job Needs Analysis process
* To lead/play a key role in the continuous monitoring, review and development of HR policy, procedures and practices
* To support HR in project work in
* To analyse and manage complex and potentially litigious HR issues
* To support and provide guidance to all levels of staff on HR issues
* Ensure all internal and external interviewers and assessors are competent and fully trained
Skills and experience
* Experience of using an HR Information system
* Experience of handling complex ER casework
* Interview skills
* Degree level or postgraduate qualification in HR
* Chartered membership of the CIPD would be desirable
