SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER MANUFACTURING

CAN BE BASED ANYWHERE IN NORTHERN EUROPE - MEDICAL DEVICES - SALARY UP TO £70,000 PLUS EXCELLENT SENIOR BENEFITS PACKAGE

Haemonetics is a global healthcare company dedicated to providing innovative blood management solutions for our customers. Together, our devices and consumables, information technology platforms, and consulting services deliver a suite of business solutions to help our customers improve clinical outcomes and reduce the cost of healthcare for blood collectors, hospitals, and patients around the world. We now need to make the key hire of a Senior Project Manager across all manufacturing.

Reporting to the VP Corporate Engineering & Continuous Improvement, the Senior Project Manager will oversee the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new and existing products across our European manufacturing sites and contract manufacturing partners. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the effective use of materials, equipment and personnel and producing quality products at minimum costs. They will also act as a liaison with Engineering in releasing new products, developing systems to maintain reports and keeping appropriate records of company products. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the overall coordination, status reporting, and schedule adherence of projects of global scope and complexity. May manage other project managers.
  • Collaborate with the project management team in the development and execution of plans that incorporate the following components: time, cost, scope, quality, communications, risk, human resources, procurement, and integration.
  • Utilise coaching and facilitating skills with program shareholders to ensure proper project management protocols are employed and best practices are utilised.
  • Regularly interacts with and influences executives and senior leaders in establishing strategic plans, objectives and solutions.
  • Manage projects in compliance with Haemonetics SOPs by employing techniques such as project plans, product specifications, phase and design reviews, required documentation, test protocols and test reports.
  • Typical projects include - plant/operational restructuring, NPI/NPD, strategic outsourcing and CI/lean improvement projects.

  • You are educated to degree calibre in a technical field (engineering or science), an MBA qualification would advantageous. The relevant candidate has a background in medical devices, although will may consider other life science, biotechnology and pharmaceutical backgrounds. You are a proven manufacturing project or programme manager used to working up to board level. The successful candidate will be able to exhibit project management skills across R+D, manufacturing, engineering and third party sub contract suppliers. You are used to working to GMP standards, and FDA regulations for medical devices. A background in lean / CI / six sigma is taken as a given, along with first class presentation and communication skills and the ability to lead from the front.

    This position can be based from the UK, or at one of our European sites. Due to the extensive travel (up to 70%) required for this position, often at short notice, access to transport links, particularly for air travel, would be advantageous. In return we will offer you an excellent basic salary up to £70,000 and a thoroughly comprehensive and lucrative senior management benefits package.
