Development Engineer Glasgow   up to £32K + benefits

For many years this company has been at the forefront of developing 1-off solutions to complex and demanding engineering problems. Its success has led to many patents, and an increasing reputation with its customers around the world.

To focus on the development from design into production of these 1-offs, it requires an experienced Development Engineer. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring an effective and efficient transfer from design to production to customer. Working closely with the design team, you will ensure the manufacturability of that design, recommending any changes necessary. You will minimise the risk of production errors through tight process development and control, and recommend any changes of equipment, tooling and process etc to ensure this happens.

It is likely you will have a broad engineering background education and training; an ideal mix would be time served and degree. What you will have is a strong understanding of process design and optimisation for 1-off builds, the engineering knowledge to find solutions, and the practical engineering skills to make these happen. This is a role currently handled directly by the Engineering Manager.
