My client is a manufacturer of complex electro-mechanical and electronic equipment. As part of their ongoing expansion plans, they are looking to recruit a Senior Production Engineer whose main remit will be to focus on process optimisation, cost reductions and continuous improvements. 

You will be tasked with working with the Design Engineering in the area of DFM in order to simplify designs for ease of assembly, test and service by the employment of Six Sigma, Kaizen and other continuous improvement tools. This role will involve working with Design, Production and QA to help in guiding new production developments from conception through to production release. You will assist with the generation of production documentation, service instructions, tooling, development of jigs and fixtures, process development and sub-contractor support.  

It is expected that you will have significant experience of using Six Sigma, Kaizen and other continuous improvement tools in an electrical equipment manufacturing background. You will be qualified to HND/Degree level in Engineering with some formal Six Sigma training. You will have experience of production manufacture and assembly processes using sheet metal fabrications, pressed components, plastic mouldings, electronic and electrical assemblies, cable-forms and micro-processor based electrical test equipment. Experience of CAD and MRP systems would also be desirable as is the ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
