Registers of Scotland is responsible for compiling and maintaining public registers relating to property and other legal documents. By maintaining and developing a stable and effective land registration system, we play a key role in the infrastructure that supports the Scottish economy and underpins the property market. One of our strategic objectives is to have a culture of continuous improvement that focuses on effectiveness and efficiency. Key to this for us is to make best use of ICT in our business activities. This includes the delivery of electronic services both in terms of the provision of information from our registers and the process of registering deeds and applications in the two Scottish property registers.
We are currently recruiting for several positions within our Software Development and IT Analytics teams, including a User Experience Specialist. This provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated IT professional looking for a varied role and to make a substantial contribution to our organisation.
As the User Experience Specialist you will design user interfaces for web applications, both for internal and external use. You will be expected to fulfil the roles of designing how users interact with our web applications and follow journeys as well as the visual appearance of interfaces. However, greater emphasis is placed on the former role.
You will work as part of the software development team, using modern, iterative, test-driven approaches to software development. Thus there is a significant need for teamwork and you will work closely with analysts, testers, developers and user representatives.
Applications are invited from candidates who have solid experience of designing user interfaces for web applications and working as a member of a software development team.
