Fixed Term for 2 Years The closing date for this post is provisionally set at 2 September 2012. This may change and close early depending on applicant response levels Linlithgow Customer Information Services (CIS) is based within County Buildings and staff deal with face to face enquiries from the public on behalf of a range of council services. In addition, the service also operates as a reception point for the building and runs a payment office where customers can pay their rent or council tax.
Reporting to a Senior CIS Adviser, the post holder will work as part of a team in the delivery of first class customer service. The postholder will provide a range of functions that will include front of house reception, handling payments, dealing with basic CIS enquiries (for example street lighting, Garden Maintenance, waste management, repairs to council houses) and, on occasion, provide support to the Heritage Library Service which is part of the service delivered from this location.
This post is a 2 year fixed-term position working 36 hours per week Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate will undertake the Level 2 Modern Apprenticeship in Customers Services and it is therefore essential that the successful candidate has a flair for building rapport with customers and has excellent communications skills.
There will be a requirement to work with a number of databases so basic IT skills are also required.
This vacancy is open to 16 – 19 year olds who live in West Lothian.
