Analyst / Developer Edinburgh   £25000 - £35000 per annum + benefits

My client, a leading financial services organisation based in central Edinburgh, are currently looking to recruit an experienced Analyst/Developer to join their team on a permanent basis. As part of a team responsible for the support and ongoing development of business critical applications across the organisation, this is a key role and an excellent opportunity to join a respected company.

The main responsibilities are the ongoing support and development of various in-house and third party applications, mainly in response to issues raised by end users throughout the business. As such, the successful candidate will be expected to:

*Take ownership of support calls from the initial report through to development, implementation and testing of the appropriate solution
*Develop an excellent understanding of the organisation's applications (both externally and internally developed) and the ability to administer them
*Share knowledge across the team and maintain appropriate documentation
*Work closely with end users to ensure timely delivery of appropriate solutions

Applicants will ideally have experience working in a similar role and the following skills and attributes:

*Strong understanding of SQL Server architecture and development work
*Good general technical background (within a .Net/C# environment)
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues alike
*Analytical approach to problem solving
*Ability to prioritise workload and work autonomously where required
*Self-motivated and willing to improve and develop where necessary
