This RELIEF post is based in the Banchory area, you will be required to operate Council vehicles, transporting clients including children and adults at risk to and from Local Authority establishments.
>> You must have experience in PCV’s and a category D1 licence, have good communication and basic numeric skills. The ability to work unsupervised and be able to carry out physical duties including assisting wheelchair bound passengers is essential.
>> Midas training and previous use of safety and mobility aids relating to accessible vehicles is desirable, as is a First Aid qualification.
>> This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire Council will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory. The preferred candidate will also be required to provide an Oversees Criminal Records Check from other countries as deemed necessary. An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory.

Job Purpose
>> To operate Local Authority small multi-purpose vehicles transporting clients including children and adults at risk to and from Local Authority establishments.
>> This involves individual working and requires good communication with Local Authority staff, clients, parents and members of the public.
Main Tasks
- To operate Aberdeenshire Council multi purpose vehicles
- To ensure the comfort, safety and welfare of all clients carried
- To supervise and assist passenger boarding and alighting
- To undertake basic vehicle maintenance checks and routine vehicle cleaning
- To adhere to all relevant drivers regulations and health and safety requirements
