Project Engineer (Software)

Eden Scott's Client based in the Central belt is a market leader in the O&G sector; due to growth and an increase in new projects they are currently looking for Project Engineer (Software) to join their team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will have to specify, design, procure and oversee development and test of control system software: to meet quality guidelines, and time and cost budgets

Responsibilities:

*Review client specifications and design appropriate software solutions
*Prepare Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Software Implementation Specification (SIS) and System Test Procedures (STP) for software aspects of solution
*Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) to meet software design requirements
*Undertake and oversee (as appropriate) development of software solution, and testing of same (for both internal and client tests) (using SCADA software, flow computers, PLCs)
*Develop software Installation & Commissioning procedures, to enable site works to proceed in a planned manner
*Take on the Lead Engineer role on some projects, as requirements/scope of project necessitates
*Line Manage a small team of software project engineers working on similar projects (for Senior PE role)
*Set up test and/or simulation systems to assist in testing phase of project

Please note: Some travel to on-shore and off-shore locations will be required in this role

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline and have several years' industry experience in SCADA/PLC Software solutions.
