Purchase Ledger Supervisor

Based: Falkirk

Salary: Circa. £32,000 per annum Depending on Experience

My client is a leader within their industry; they have an immediate requirement for an experienced Purchase Ledger Supervisor to join them on a temporary basis estimated to last until February 2013.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial management of the General Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Cash Book. The role includes management of 6 Purchase Ledger staff, plus oversight of the Cash Book, financial reporting to Group Finance, plus reconciliation of General Ledger balance sheet accounts.

Duties will include:

Provide leadership and supervision of the Purchase Ledger team of 6 people.

Responsible for financial accounting and ledger control of Debtor and Creditor general ledger account balances

Active management of the purchase ledger payment cycle.

Preparation of monthly management results in accordance with group timetable

Ensure proper financial controls are maintained

Assist with the transfer of Purchase Ledger to a central shared service center, based in England.

Liaison with external auditors as appropriate

Preparation of VAT return

To be considered for this position you should have the following background and skills:

Previous experience within a high volume purchase ledger environment

Solid and demonstrated people management skills

Taking responsibility and having ownership of financial information and processes

Interacts well with other functions in the business

Technical accounting knowledge
