PQ Accountant Edinburgh   £20000 - £35000 per annum

Are you someone who likes to excel at your work and doesn't stop until you've done the best you can? Ever frustrated at not being able to get the recognition for doing your job well from the wider business?
We're looking for part qualified accountants with experience of working in a complex financial reporting environment (large financial services firms or shared service finance centres or similar) to bring best practice with them and assist with a major project to improve all aspects of our clients financial reporting processes. Be that finding more effective or efficient ways of working, eliminating duplicated efforts, implementing improvements in accuracy of data or supporting changes in the business by creating effective processes - there is massive scope here to really make an impact to this business and be recognised by senior management within finance for doing a good job. And by building your network in this way you'll hugely increase your chances of quickly progressing your career within.
You'll be away from your desk as much as not, dealing with managers across all parts of this shared service finance centre and largely responsible for mapping out your own workload - after an initial period of training of course and with support and guidance at all times from your manager.
If you're interested in this line of work then now's the time to apply - we're looking for several people for this team. You'll need to be part qualified and have good experience of working within a similarly complex environment, dealing with multiple reporting systems. Whilst previous experience of working within similar finance transformation initiatives would be beneficial, far more important is the desire to excel, a continuous improvement mindset and the confidence and credibility to influence senior management.
If you're more driven by the technical challenge of complex analysis work, these "business as usual" roles are also being created within this company due to internal secondments to the project team.
