My client an industrial services organisation based in central Scotland, have a unique opportunity for a qualified accountant to join them as Financial Director.
Reporting directly to the board your duties will include:

  • Ensuring the integrity of all financial and management information for the business ensuring deadlines are met and a strong control environment is maintained
  • Monthly Management and Statutory Account preparation and analysis.
  • Preparation and reporting of annual and monthly projections against actual performance.
  • Prepared financial and commercial Board report and attended subsidiary and Group Board Meetings on a monthly basis.
  • Budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling of alternative scenarios for Board and management discussion.
  • Liaising with operational management to understand the current business plan and both operational and financial drivers that impact the business.
  • Involvement in broader commercial aspects of business beyond accounting, developing strategic development plans, identifying and focusing on critical issues.
  • Managing external agencies who engage with the business including Customers, Suppliers, IT Consultants, Legal agents, Auditors, Bankers and Government agencies.


    • The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a similar role, ideally within the SME sector and will be able to demonstrate superior commercial acumen. Furthermore you should possess excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills coupled with a results driven and proactive approach
